How it works

Nothing happens between the form and the van

That’s the most common thing people tell us they liked, and it’s deliberate. There is no sales process because there is nothing to sell you beyond the move.

How it works

Four steps, no salesman

The most common thing people tell us they liked is that nothing happened between sending the form and the van arriving. That’s deliberate.

  1. 1

    Send the details

The form, or an email. Both addresses, roughly how much there is, and whether your date is fixed.

  2. 2

    Send a video, or don’t

A phone walk-round of each room is usually all we need. If the job is large or the access looks awkward we’ll ask to come and look — you can decline and we’ll quote on a stated assumption instead.

  3. 3

    Get one figure

Itemised, in plain words, with the four things that could change it listed on the same page. Nobody rings you afterwards about packing materials.

  4. 4

    We move you

The crew named on the quote, with everything they need. Beds back together before they leave.

Why we usually don’t visit

For most moves a phone walk-round tells us what we need: the rooms, roughly what’s in them, the stairs, and the street outside. Sending someone to sit in your kitchen adds a diary appointment and a person whose job, at most firms, is partly to sell.

Where we do ask to visit — larger houses, or access that looks genuinely difficult — it’s a request rather than a condition. You can decline, and we’ll quote against a stated assumption written on the quote so you can see exactly what we assumed.

What makes a video walk-round useful

  • Walk each room slowly, including the loft, garage and any shed.
  • Open wardrobes and cupboards — we’re estimating what comes out of them.
  • Film the stairs from the bottom, and the landing turn from above.
  • Film the street outside and where a vehicle could stop.
  • Say out loud what isn’t coming with you.

A few minutes of that is worth more than a long phone conversation, and it’s the difference between a quote that holds and one that gets corrected.

After you accept

You get a confirmation with the crew named on it and the date. Then nothing happens until we arrive, which is how it should be. If anything changes at our end you’ll hear from us; if nothing changes, you won’t.

What to do before the van arrives →

On the day

Who turns up, and with what

Who turns up
The crew named on your quote Employed crew, not a sub-contractor found the night before. If the named crew changes we tell you why before the day.
What they arrive with
Blankets, straps, dollies, tool roll, floor runners All of it standard. You will not be asked whether you would like your furniture protected.
The vehicle
Sized at survey for the job and the street The smallest vehicle that actually does it. A bigger one that cannot get near your door is worse than two trips.
What they will not do
Disconnect gas, plumbing or hardwired appliances Not a dodge — it needs a registered trade, and a remover who offers it is either uninsured or unqualified. We will move them once they are disconnected.
Who to talk to on the day
The crew lead, by name One person is in charge of your move and you will know which one. Decisions do not have to go through an office.

Send us the two addresses

Roughly how much there is, and whether your date is fixed. You’ll get one figure back, and nobody will ring you about boxes.
